I am coming to believe that the solution to the world’s problems isn’t to hate bullies. It’s to heal them.
I don’t think children are born bullies, they are made into them. And why? Why do children become bullies? It’s antisocial, it’s certainly not the smartest long-run survival skill. It’s a short-term coping mechanism, like addictions and temptations and neurotic tendencies. Scratch the itch and with it, prevent the scab from forming over the open wound.
So though I used to have a vendetta out for bullies, now I think I’d like to give them a hug and a sweet treat. Get them to soften up a little, get a diary and spill out the dirty stuff they’ve kept in.
Damn, we humans are complicated.
