I like my blog for man reasons, one of which is that I don’t have to worry about getting things wrong here. This, my online comrades, is a glimpse into the battleground of my life. Here, we are fighting a major war in my existence’s history: my War. Not my War I or my War II, this War is guaranteed to not rest until my brain does. There are battles everyday, some less gruesome than others. The casualties rack up really quickly – animals, people, vegetation. Environments, ecosystems, sanity, happiness. The memorials for this destruction are being built, many are under construction as we speak. I am the historian that specializes in the retelling of this War. I try to give you daily updates, and I will strive to do so for as long as this War wages.
In all battles, there are brave souls and cowards. My many personalities, the hurt and the healed, are the warriors. They do what they can to stay alive and relevant, trying to earn love and attention through their physical displays of might. Though I try to forget the personalities that betray cowardice in times of need, I cannot. They get the largest tombs in the memorials of my War, hopefully as a sign for those actions or motives to never be repeated again.
My War caused so, so much damage. The battlefield is grim and grey. Beauty and peace, though, fleet in and out.
Is there a version of me that doesn’t have her personalities engaged in War? Is this all needless suffering?
Humility: the absence of pride and ego. In other contexts, unimpressive or unassuming. The state of being humble. Derived from the Latin word humilis, meaning low.
