We are all nursing hurts that we think are dangers to our survival. But for some of us, these aren’t matters of true survival. Why don’t our minds distinguish between a threat to our life or a threat to our acceptance from ourselves and others? Is there anything we would trade for our own beating hearts? To see our love ones in the flesh? Is there anything more divine than physical existence, even if it comes with psychological tethers to undo?
Penchant: can be substituted with “liking” or “liking for”. Noun. For example, the turtle’s penchant for lettuce and sunbathing. Or, she has a penchant for hikes in the raw wilderness.
